The OxHS is quite pleased to announce the return of our Grand Day Out event. This year’s event includes a visit to Castle Kilbride, a picnic lunch in New Hamburg at Scott Park, and the Plattsville & District Heritage Society’s (PDHS) exhibit at Chestfield United Church.
This year’s Grand Day Out will take place on Saturday, June 25, 2022 beginning at 10am and ending between 4 and 5pm. The group would meet at the Woodstock Public Library parking lot and car pool together to the various locations.
Castle Kilbride’s first available tour time is 11am and tickets must be purchased in advanced. Admission price is approximately $11.00 and the tickets are non-refundable. If you do not wish to view the inside of Castle Kilbride an option is to explore their grounds, there is no charge to wander the grounds.
After Castle Kilbride the group will make their way to Scott Park in New Hamburg. You can either bring a picnic lunch or purchase food on the way. There is a Subway and other restaurants in New Hamburg to chose from. In Scott Park is a 50ft Water Wheel built in 1990 and picnic areas.
Following lunch will be the exhibit at Chesterfield United Church by the PDHS. Admission is free for the exhibit but donations are always welcome.
