2016 Spirit of Christmas Tour of Homes
This year’s tour includes homes from 3 different centuries: 3 from the Victorian era, 1 from mid 20th. century, and 1 from the present century.
The homes are:
399 Drew St. (corner of Light St.) Home of Brenda & Brian Currah
209 Light St. Home of Tanya Thompson & Nelson Simard
329 Light St. Home of Susan & Dr. William George
668 Devonshire Ave. Home of Christine & Danny Finoro
447 Parrott Place Home of Vicky & Scott
Our sincere thanks goes to these homeowners for opening their homes so people can view the rooms they have decorated for Christmas.
Tickets can be purchased starting in mid October at Merrifield Book Shop, 471 Dundas St., Woodstock Museum, NHS and from the Oxford Historical Society Resource Centre, 82 Light St. Ticket price is $20.00.
Volunteers are needed on Saturday November 26, 2016 to staff the homes, either in the morning or in the afternoon, for shifts of approximately 3 hours. Each volunteer will be given a free ticket so they can tour the other homes. The sign up sheet is at the Resource Centre in the Govenor’s House. Or you can contact Kathie Richards by phoning 519-537-7743 or by emailing kathie @bell.net.
This has been a fun and successful event in the past, because of all the volunteers, so be sure to help out this year if you are able. Not able to staff a home? You can help by encouraging your friends to take the tour!
